Zakat
Zakat (Arabic: زكاة zakāt, "which purifies", more Arabic: زكاة ألمال, "Zakat of wealth" is one of the five pillars of Islam. Every independent, adult Muslim male and female each year own a fixed part of their income and property If it crosses the limits of the Islamic Sharia (the amount of Nisab), the rule of distribution among the poor and the poor is called Zakat. Generally, property is more than the fixed limit of Hijri. If there is a gross amount of 2.5 percent (2.5 percent) or 1/40 of the total property, it is to be distributed in Hajj and Zakat is only conditional that it is obligatory or compulsory for the wealthy, holy scripture. It has been 32 times. Most often it has been mentioned after the prayer.
Zakat terms.
Zakat is obligatory on certain conditions if there is a wealth of Nisab, independent and adult Muslim male. Such as:1. Full ownership of assets
To be Zakat on property, ownership of the property must be specific. That is, there is absolute right to own and enjoy the rights of the property, the rights of the owner, the rights of others, or ownership of the property, and the will of their own interests. There is no zakat of assets which are not explicitly owned, such as: government-owned assets. Likewise, the zakat will not be set on waqfed property for public welfare. But if the waqf is for a person or tribe, then he has to pay Zakat.
2. Being productive is wealthy
For the Zakat, wealth must be productive, prosperous, that is, enough to increase the wealth. For example: cattle, buffaloes, business goods, cash goods, etc., for the business of goods and services. That is, the zakat will not be imposed on those goods which are not capable of achieving their own growth, such as personal use, transport, transport etc.
3. The amount of wealth of Nisab
The third condition of the obligatory zakat is that there is a limit to the limit. If the common 52.5 silver or 7.5 gold or both of them are worth 55.5 in value, then they have to pay Zakat of the property. In the case of animals, this amount is different (details: 'zakat pay rules').
4. Having more than basic resources is essential
Zakat will be obligatory only on the resources that will be cited on meeting the basic requirements of the year. With reference to the Qur'an mention:
People want to know you (Muhammad), what will they spend in Allah's way? Say, which is more than necessary. This is how Allah gives you clear rules.
Muhammad [Sa] companion Abdullah ibn Abbas [ra] said,
"Extra to say, after the expense of the family, which means additional or remaining.
According to Mr. Yusuf Al-Karzawi, the basic needs of the wife, son, family, and the maintenance of the parents and close relatives are also basic needs.
5. Debt free
Although the amount of wealth is the sum of money, the freedom of the person, and the condition of being zakat is one of the conditions. If the owner of the property is so lenrised, which is unable to meet the amount of money, or the amount of money which is less than that, the zakat will not be obligatory. Zakat is obligatory only if there is a wealth of Nisab after repayment of loan. But the second point is: In the case of a debt that is to be repaid in the loan, the amount of loan that is to be paid in the case of debt, except the amount of loan, the zakat is payable on the fine. But after the loan has been withdrawn, the loan must be repaid. Otherwise he should pay Zakat on the property.
6. The property is pending for one year
The amount of Nisab amount is the prerequisite for making Zakat under his control for 1 year. However, the zakat (Usha) of agricultural crops, mineral resources etc. should be given at the time of harvesting. In the case of business establishments and companies, the amount of zakat will be determined according to the assets and liabilities described in the balance sheet.
Zakat in special cases.
Minor and Zakat Zakat: If the owner of the property is young or crazy, his zakat should be paid to his legal guardian.Zakat of joint owned property: If a property is a joint venture, every partner of the property will pay zakat on his own part, if it is amount or more. That is, if the value of the share of the property is added to other sources, then it can be calculated or exceeded, but the zakat has to be paid.
Zakat prescribed: If the property owner dies before his payment is fixed, his heirs or his caretaker should pay the zakat first and then repay the loan if he has any loan. The remaining property will then be distributed among the heirs.
Zakat of property vested in the charge of caretaker: If the property is vested in the legal supervisor appointed by the employer, then the caretaker will pay the Zakat on behalf of the owner.
Zakat of foreign assets: Zakat is not a condition to be obliged in the property. Rather, if the property is in another country, it should be paid zakat. But if the country is in Islamic state and the government of the country has paid zakat on all the resources, it will not be separated.
